About Me

Hi, I'm Issey! I'm a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science student at Griffith University, and I've joined the Illuminate Life team as a Support Worker.

Growing up in an Eritrean family, community and looking after one another has always been central to how I was raised. Being actively involved in my church has reinforced that, it's given me a lot of experience showing up for people, building genuine relationships, and learning how to support others through different challenges. That's what drew me to support work.

I bring patience, genuine care, at every interaction. I believe people thrive when they feel respected and valued, and that's the environment I try to create.

Outside of study and work, you'll find me with family, at church, or staying active.

Fun Fact

Monday to Friday I'm running engineering calculations, and on weekends I'm at church, somehow both keep me going!
