About Me

I am a Brisbane based Accredited Social Worker. I have been working in private practice since 2020, providing attachment and trauma-informed counselling. I hold a Masters of Social Work and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration and am an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

It can take courage to seek counselling and to work through life’s difficulties, such as crisis, significant life transitions, or trauma. I respect the diversity of human experiences and provide a non-judgmental environment, where you can feel not just safe, but that your unique experience is valued.

My clinical focus is working with adults and young people experiencing mental health presentations, including depression and anxiety. I have a special interest in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD and working with adults and young people who have experienced childhood trauma.

I have extensive experience working as a front-line first responder in high-risk crisis incidents and providing referral and follow-up care.

Professional Background

Previously, I worked as a clinical social worker for Qld Mental Health, providing community mental health services to adults with complex mental health needs. I am a Specialist Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach supporting clients on the NDIS through case management and recovery-focused approaches.

Prior to that I have over 20 years’ experience in the Qld Police Service investigating and supporting victims/survivors of childhood abuse and sexual offences. 2015-2017 I worked at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses into Childhood Sexual Abuse, working predominantly with men who had reported childhood abuse. I have also worked in a senior role as a Domestic Violence Coordinator in a dedicated Vulnerable Persons unit, providing support to victims of domestic violence, implementing improved response strategies, and fostering a safe and understanding environment for those affected.

Fun Fact

December 2023, I ticked off a bucket list experience and went cage diving with the 'Great White' sharks at Neptune Islands South Australia
